While we recognize that financial aspects are part of the music industry, our primary focus is on fostering creativity and supporting independent, committed artists who are looking for genuine representation without the industry's typical constraints.

At Nasty Brown Records, our artists enjoy the following benefits:

Flexible Contracts: Our artists are signed to an "exit anytime" contract, allowing you to leave when it suits you, without any penalties or complications.
Fair Splits: Revenue from your music is split 50/50, ensuring a fair partnership where both sides benefit equally.
No Dues or Fees: You'll never be asked to pay dues or give up any rights to your music. You retain full ownership and control over your creative work.
Full Library Access: Enjoy access to our entire library of beats, sounds, and resources to help you create and refine your music.
Collaboration and Promotion: We encourage collaboration among our roster and actively promote your work to help you reach a wider audience.
Studio Access: Local Los Angeles artists can record at Nasty Brown Studios. For out-of-state artists, we'll work closely with you to ensure you can provide clean vocal recordings for your projects and collaborations.

What does your artist agreement look like?

Nasty Brown Records Artist Agreement

This Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into as of [Date] by and between Nasty Brown Records("Label"), a division of Nasty Brown Media, located at [Label's Address], and [Artist's Name] ("Artist"), with an address at [Artist's Address].

1. Purpose and Scope

1.1 Representation: The Label agrees to represent the Artist as part of the Nasty Brown Records roster. This representation includes promotion, collaboration opportunities, and access to Label resources, with the intention of supporting the Artist's career in a cooperative and mutually beneficial manner.

1.2 Commencement Date: This Agreement begins on the date of execution and will continue until terminated by either party as outlined in Section 5.

2. Artist Rights and Obligations

2.1 Creative Control: The Artist retains full ownership and creative control over all original music and works created during the term of this Agreement.

2.2 Past Work: The Artist agrees to release past work to the Label for promotional purposes if third parties (e.g., producers, co-writers) are involved. The Label will handle all necessary permissions and clearances related to third-party involvement in past work.

2.3 Collaboration and Library Access: The Artist is entitled to full access to the Label's library of beats, sounds, and resources. The Artist is encouraged to collaborate with other artists on the Label’s roster.

3. Compensation

3.1 Revenue Splits: All revenue generated from the Artist’s work under this Agreement will be split 50/50 between the Label and the Artist. This includes, but is not limited to, sales, streaming, licensing, and other income derived from the Artist's music.

3.2 No Dues or Fees: The Artist will not be required to pay any dues, fees, or other monetary contributions to the Label. All costs associated with the promotion and distribution of the Artist's music will be covered by the Label.

4. Studio and Recording Access

4.1 Local Artists: The Label will provide the Artist with access to Nasty Brown Studios located in Los Angeles, CA, for recording purposes.

4.2 Out-of-State Artists: The Label will collaborate with out-of-state artists to facilitate clean vocal recordings for their projects, ensuring high-quality production regardless of location.

5. Termination

5.1 Exit Anytime Clause: The Artist has the right to terminate this Agreement at any time, for any reason, by providing written notice to the Label. The Artist will retain full ownership of all original works created during the term of this Agreement.

5.2 Label Termination: The Label may terminate this Agreement at any time if the Artist breaches any material terms of this Agreement or engages in conduct detrimental to the Label’s reputation.

6. Promotion and Third-Party Involvement

6.1 Promotional Use: The Artist grants the Label the right to use past and present works for promotional purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, online marketing, social media promotion, and public relations activities.

6.2 Third-Party Works: If past works involve third parties, the Label will work with the Artist to obtain the necessary permissions and clearances to use these works for promotional purposes.

7. Miscellaneous

7.1 Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflicts of law principles.

7.2 Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior discussions, agreements, or understandings of any kind.

7.3 Amendments: Any amendments or modifications to this Agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties.

7.4 Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
